Weekly Update 10/21/21 – Stagnation

Hey everyone!  Here’s the weekly update for this week.  I’ve been feeling a sense of stagnation in my life recently, so I’ve been trying to combat it by making small, meaningful changes.

A Struggle From This Week

One of my biggest goals at this time is to save up money to first pay off my student debt and then get a down payment on a house.  It’s a huge responsibility, and every little bit counts!  However, my current job and side hustles aren’t bringing in as much as I’d like, plus I’ve been struggling with fatigue on-and-off, so I’ve felt useless in my own life.  On top of that, I’ve checked off everything on my to-do list and have nothing else to take care of.  As someone who likes to be active and work towards her own goals, this is really frustrating!  I’d love to be able to get back on track and keep making a brighter future for myself.

A Win From This Week

Because of this roadblock, I’ve felt a need to be creative and look for little ways I can help myself.  To help with finances, I emailed my boss and asked if they had more hours and opportunities available for me – which thankfully, they do!  I’m excited to see what I can work on next.  In regards to side hustles, I’ve been thinking of new ways I can make passive income while enjoying myself and expressing my creativity.  That’s been super fun!  I’ve also been playing around with investment calculators and finding paths to help myself in the future, so it’s nice to know that my savings don’t have to just sit and stay still.

Aside from finances, I’ve been working on making life a little cozier for myself.  One of the things I did recently was clean out my closet and donate a ton of clothes (a whole trash bag full!)  I’ve also been seeking to make my room as comfortable as possible for me.  Surprisingly, this has come with a lot of self-discovery, as I’m realizing I feel much less anxious with neutral colors and less possessions and decor.  Essentially, going a little minimalist has been really relaxing for me!  I think by helping myself feel better in my environment, I’m making it easier for me to rest, save up energy for my next task, and complete it without the burden of stress.  Additionally, I’ve been taking time to pamper myself and Marlowe.  I’ve been enjoying skincare, warm baths, and snacks while providing my baby bird with a clean cage, new food to try, soft towels and robes to sit on when she’s out (she loves the textures,) and lots of love!  In return, I get a ton of beak clicking – a sign that she’s happy.  I’m so glad I’m making life a little easier and more satisfying for both her and myself!
